You will want to say you were there the night the Goth army invaded the Chazen Museum of Art.

Madison Shakespeare Company celebrates the First Folio exhibition at Chazen Museum of Art with Shakespeare’s Joy and Strife, two special performances on Thursday, November 17.

At 6:00 PM in the Chazen Auditorium, we present the joys of the First Folio, with selections from Romeo and Juliet, As You Like It, Much Ado About Nothing, and The Tempest.

At 7:30 PM in Gallery XIII on the third floor, we present matters of life, death, power, and survival inspired by Jim Dine’s works, including a special preview of the February 2017 premiere of Richard the Second directed by Christopher William Wolter, and a scene from Hamlet directed by Suzan Kurry.

Admission to both performances is free and open to the public.

The Joy and Strife ensemble includes the talents of Tia Tanzer, Katie Norman, Joshua Woolfolk, Laura Kochanowski, Deanna Martinez, Betsy Wood, Katherine Johnson, Janine Puleo, Jacob Lange, Sam D. White, Cassie Kohrs, Jason Compton, Sarah Johnson, Bryan Metrish, Chelsea Troost, Mary Fairweather Dexter, and Donald Dexter.
