An American premiere nearly 100 years in the making. Only Madison Shakespeare Company would open the first season of its indoor residency at the Bartell Theatre with a science fiction comedy!
Tickets are on sale now for the first-ever performance of The Blue Comet on US soil, with six shows beginning November 1 at Madison’s Bartell Theatre. The scene is set in the comfortably modest Hampstead, London home of Nicholas Bedale and his children.
The Bedales have three big problems:
- Their expenses exceed income…
- …a rogue comet is about to crash into the Earth…
- …and their Australian relation is coming to visit.
It all adds up to one terribly polite comedy about the end of the world.
The Blue Comet is for fans of Don’t Look Up, Night of the Comet, celestial apocalypse comedies, and anyone who would love reading a good book as the Earth is smashed to bits.

Gina Chirichella as Jane
