To assemble our staged reading of Edward the Fourth, we had to start with a poorly scanned version of an 1842 text from London’s Shakespeare Society.
Records are scanty about this kind of thing, but we feel pretty confident that this text has never been performed in Madison, probably not in Wisconsin, and for all we know hasn’t been seen in this nation for a lifetime or more.
It’s better than its recent history suggests… and even when it’s bad, it’s the best kind of bad. And it’s free. August 17, 7 PM at Arts + Literature Laboratory, 2021 Winnebago St in Madison.
