The fall of Troy was just the beginning.
Christopher Marlowe’s gripping supernatural romance Dido, Queen of Carthage is a beautiful reinterpretation of the early books of The Aeneid, but rarely performed. Only a unique collaboration between Madison Shakespeare Company and Madison Children’s Museum makes it possible, and there are just four performances before Aeneas once more sets sail for Hesperia:
June 28, 7 PM
June 29, 5 PM
June 29, 7:30 PM
June 30, 6 PM
Presented outdoors in the MCM Wonderground, which serves as the peak of Mount Olympus, the palace of the love-cursed Queen Dido, and the cruel shores where Aeneas and his small band of Trojan survivors are shipwrecked.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 day-of-show, and are onsale now.
Note that this production is intended for adults and mature teens and is part of Drama In the Wonderground, an MCM initiative for grownup audiences.
